Meatless Meals for Lent: Vegetarian takeout & Pescatarian meals
February 11, 2021On Fridays during Lent, you’ll find many vehicles filling up fast food drive-thru lines to order fish sandwiches. But if the thought of a cheap, soggy sandwich isn’t sitting right with you, consider looking for other restaurants that offer pescatarian meals (aka eating fish but no other meat) and vegetarian takeout that’s actually delicious.
In fact, this chicken wing restaurant is confident enough in its vegetarian meals that we think you might even be inspired to give up meat for the full 40 days of Lent. Even though we’re best known for our wings, we have countless alternative menu offerings too, including savory pescatarian meals and flavorful vegetarian takeout.
Here are just a few of our favorite meatless meals for Lent:
1. Cauliflower Wings
Hand-breaded, fried, and drizzled with Medium Roasted Garlic sauce, our cauliflower wings are finished with a dusting of parmesan cheese. Not feeling like roasted garlic? No problem! You can swap sauces for another one you prefer, whether you’re feeling like a Korean kick, some Sweet BBQ, or a Lemon Pepper Dry Seasoning. Plus, our foods travel well, making these wings perfect for vegetarian takeout.
2. Southwestern Veggie Burger
Made with black beans, our Southwestern Veggie Burger is served on a brioche bun. In between, you’ll find cucumber, avocado, Cheddar Jack cheese, chipotle aioli, lettuce, tomato, and a pickle. Pair this with our fresh Saratoga chips, natural cut fries, or steamed broccoli for a delightfully delicious dinner.
3. Bayou Salmon Sandwich (hold the bacon)
Fish Fridays just got a little more exciting. Enjoy this sandwich with blackened salmon, garlic aioli, greens, and tomato all served on a brioche bun. This one usually comes with bacon, so be sure to request it be made without it for a pescatarian meal.
4. Appetizer Sampler
Can’t choose between our variety of mouthwatering appetizers? Why not pick three and make a meal out of it? Choose from our soft-and-airy pretzel bites with queso, our natural-cut parmesan garlic aioli fries, crispy-delicious mozzarella sticks, breaded-and-fried pickle chips with ranch, or thick-cut onion rings.
5. Korean Shrimp
If you’re opting to eat pescatarian meals during Lent, choose seafood with flavor. Our hand-breaded, fried Korean shrimp is tossed in spicy/sweet/salty Gochujang sauce, then served atop a bed of Korean BBQ slaw with jalapenos, sesame seeds, and cilantro.
