At Wings and Rings, our chefs are constantly innovating in the kitchen, coming up with new flavors to make our menu even better. But inspiration doesn’t just come from culinary trends; it also comes from our team who makes Wings and Rings the ultimate sports restaurant experience at locations across the country. 

In 2024, Wings and Rings hosted a unique contest where store managers across all our restaurants were invited to submit their own recipe creations. The winning dish was chosen at our company conference, and the manager with the winning idea had the opportunity to collaborate with our chefs to refine their recipe and bring it to our menus nationwide. We met up with the winner of this year’s contest to talk about her winning recipe for Cinnamon Roll Pretzel Bites, soon on the menu at a Wings and Rings near you!  

Sweet victory: Meet our recipe contest winner

There were so many delicious recipe submissions to choose from, but there can only be one that reaches official menu status. Cinnamon Roll Pretzel Bites is the winning recipe for the 2024 store special contest, created by Kyla Fetter, general manager of Wings and Rings Lewis Center in Columbus, Ohio. 

One bite into these warm pretzel bites rolled in cinnamon sugar and drizzled with vanilla cream cheese icing, and we knew we had our winner. We took time to talk with Kyla and her team about her contest-winning Cinnamon Roll Pretzel Bites. 

How did you come up with your recipe for Cinnamon Roll Pretzel Bites?

Kyla says the whole Lewis Center team worked together to submit items for the contest. The team had made dessert pretzel bites before, and the regulars loved it. “We already sell so many pretzel bites so why not make it into a dessert.”

What would you say is the “wow” factor behind your Cinnamon Roll Pretzel Bites recipe?

“Everyone has a brownie or ice cream on the menu, but the pretzel bites set us apart,” says Kyla about their sweet twist on a savory snack. 

Kyla says her store’s winning Cinnamon Roll Pretzel Bites are a “great addition to our menu utilizing an item we sell all the time already,” by reimagining the Pretzel Bites shareable starter off our menu.

What is the best way to enjoy Cinnamon Roll Pretzel Bites? Any pairings you recommend from our menu?

“We have a lot of options with our large menu” says Kyla where you can, “mix and match everything.” And hey, the fans know best. Kyla mentions while they were testing out their creation that one regular, “Rocky got the Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels and added ice cream.”

How did you feel when you found out you had won the Wings and Rings recipe contest?

Kyla replies she and her Lewis Center team are excited to have won and would love to see their Cinnamon Roll Pretzel Bites become a permanent item on the Wings and Rings menu.
