Catch Baseball’s Opening Day with Wings and Rings

March 29, 2023

Play ball! Spring training is behind us and it’s almost time for the 2023 professional baseball season and Opening Day games. As an official sponsor of the Cincinnati Reds, we’re excited to check out the competition and see which teams start the season off with a bang. So, what’s Opening Day all about? We’ll walk you through the history of Opening Day, it’s connection to our hometown of Cincinnati, and how you can enjoy this year’s pro baseball Opening Day games at your local Wings and Rings.

A Brief History of Professional Baseball’s Opening Day

America’s pastime has been around for over a hundred years, with the first game in the National League played in 1876. And since the very beginning, our hometown Cincinnati has been at the heart of Opening Day festivities. The then Cincinnati Red Stockings were the first professional baseball team to join the league. For almost every Opening Day since 1876, the Reds have opened the season on their home field. It’s no wonder that baseball fever takes over our hometown every year as the unofficial holiday of Cincinnati.

As an official sponsor of the Cincinnati Reds, Wings and Rings is proud to carry on the tradition of Opening Day excitement. We’re literally in the building where it happens. That’s right, you can stop by Wings and Rings in the Machine Room at Cincinnati’s Great American Ball Park. We have plenty of hometown pride, but we also make sure we’re the place for all fans to celebrate. The action’s also at our restaurants, where you can catch Opening Day matchups at Wings and Rings across the country.
