The Buffalove Foundation Gives Back to the Freestore Foodbank

Community service is an integral part of Wings and Rings’ mission. Every year the Buffalove Foundation gives back to our community during our National Day of Service, which fell this year on February 15th. On this day, all staff and franchisees are encouraged to volunteer their time to a non-profit that benefits children who are food insecure.

This year, members of Wings and Rings’ corporate office volunteered at the Freestore Foodbank. Nearly 25 employees spent their afternoon packing 630 emergency boxes and 1,200 bags of produce, which provide Cincinnati-area children with much-needed nutrition over the weekends when access to school meals isn’t available.

Buffalove Mission Aligns with Freestore Foodbank

The Buffalove Foundation was founded in 2016 as a way for us to give back to the local communities we serve. In addition to volunteering during our National Day of Service, we also give back through other community service activities, grants, food drives, and more. This helps us move closer to our goal of giving every hungry child the food they need to flourish with access to regular meals and a side of love.

The Freestore Foodbank’s mission is “to improve lives by eliminating hunger in partnership with our community,” and their vision is “to create a hunger-free, healthy, and thriving community.”

To this end, every Friday during the school year, The Freestore Foodbank sends Power Packs home with students. These packs ensure students have something to eat on the weekends and contain over a dozen food items which are all kid-friendly and shelf-stable.

“Buffalove has partnered with the Freestore Foodbank for the past four years, and they have many great local outreach programs to help the community,” William Stone, Social/Advertisement and Buffalove Coordinator, said. “They have a huge impact when it comes to helping relieve childhood hunger.”

Other ways in which the Buffalove Foundation helps the community is through their Buffalove Foundation grants. Ranging from $250 to $2,500, these grants are awarded to organizations committed to feeding hungry children in the Wings and Rings demographic areas.

“The Buffalove Foundation has given out more than $30,000 in award money that has been distributed to organizations across the country,” Stone said. “We know that childhood hunger impacts people all over the country and being able to supply funding to help them achieve their goals of feeding children is why we do business and why we’re here. We encourage anyone and everyone who meets our requirements to apply.”
